Position Overview

A technology-focused foreign exchange environment in Estonia is seeking an experienced FX Trading Technology Developer to contribute to the software infrastructure supporting modern currency-trading operations.

This is a hands-on development position for a professional who understands the relationship between financial markets and technology. You will work on applications and services supporting market data, pricing, order workflows, execution, and trading connectivity.

The role requires strong software-engineering discipline, an appreciation of financial-market data, and the ability to build reliable systems where accuracy and performance are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software supporting foreign-exchange trading workflows.
• Build and improve services responsible for market-data processing and distribution.
• Develop integrations with liquidity providers, brokers, banks, and financial-data platforms.
• Support order-routing and execution-related technology.
• Design reliable APIs and backend services for FX applications.
• Monitor application performance and investigate technical incidents.
• Analyse system behaviour and resolve issues affecting trading workflows.
• Develop automated tests for critical financial applications.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with DevOps and infrastructure specialists on deployment and monitoring.
• Maintain technical documentation covering services and integrations.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Professional experience in software development, preferably within fintech, banking, brokerage, or financial markets.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, Python, Go, C#, or a comparable language.
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, networking, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of FX markets, trading platforms, or financial instruments.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerised applications is advantageous.
• Strong debugging and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail when working with financial data.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Professional English communication skills.
