Description
An advanced financial technology and trading environment in Estonia is looking for an FX Quantitative Trader to develop, test, and monitor systematic approaches to foreign-exchange trading.
This position combines quantitative research, financial modelling, programming, market microstructure, and trading execution. It is particularly suited to a professional who enjoys converting market data into testable hypotheses and robust trading models.
The Challenge
You will work across the complete quantitative trading lifecycle—from research and historical analysis through backtesting, strategy validation, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
Research & Modelling
- Research systematic strategies across major and cross-currency FX markets.
- Analyse historical price, volatility, liquidity, and execution data.
- Develop statistical and quantitative models for signal generation and market analysis.
- Investigate relationships between macroeconomic variables and currency-market behaviour.
Strategy Development
- Build and evaluate backtesting frameworks.
- Conduct statistical validation and sensitivity analysis.
- Assess transaction costs, slippage, liquidity constraints, and execution quality.
- Monitor model stability and identify potential sources of performance deterioration.
- Contribute to portfolio construction and exposure-management methodologies.
Technology & Execution
- Collaborate with developers to implement research into production trading systems.
- Improve data pipelines and research tooling.
- Monitor live strategy performance and execution metrics.
- Develop automated reporting and analytical tools.
Technical Background

Professional Requirements
- Degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of quantitative trading, quantitative research, systematic strategy development, or related experience.
- Strong understanding of FX markets and trading mechanics.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse financial datasets rigorously.
- Strong programming and statistical reasoning.
- Excellent attention to research methodology and data quality.
- Ability to communicate quantitative findings clearly.
