Position Overview

We are looking for an FX Execution Trader to support institutional foreign exchange transactions, optimise trade execution, and monitor market liquidity across currency markets. The role focuses on execution efficiency, pricing awareness, order handling, and exposure monitoring rather than speculative trading alone.

The ideal candidate will understand how market depth, volatility, transaction costs, and liquidity conditions influence execution outcomes. Working alongside dealing, treasury, and risk professionals, the successful applicant will help ensure that currency transactions are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established trading controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute FX orders across designated currency pairs and trading venues in line with approved execution procedures.

• Monitor live exchange rates, bid-ask spreads, liquidity conditions, and market depth to support timely trade execution.

• Assess execution alternatives based on transaction size, urgency, market volatility, and prevailing liquidity.

• Review slippage, price movements, fill rates, and transaction costs to identify opportunities for execution improvement.

• Monitor open positions and currency exposures, escalating unusual movements or limit breaches to the appropriate personnel.

• Coordinate with treasury, dealing, operations, and risk teams to ensure accurate trade processing and settlement readiness.

• Verify order details, execution confirmations, trade timestamps, and transaction records.

• Investigate execution discrepancies and contribute to the resolution of pricing or trade-booking issues.

• Produce execution-quality reports and maintain clear documentation for internal controls and audit requirements.

• Track central bank announcements and major economic releases that may affect currency liquidity and execution conditions.

• Follow applicable internal policies and relevant Estonian and EU regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in FX execution, institutional dealing, treasury operations, brokerage trading, or a comparable financial-market function.

• Strong understanding of spot FX markets, currency pricing, spreads, liquidity, and order execution.

• Familiarity with trading terminals, electronic dealing systems, market-data platforms, or order-management tools.

• Understanding of trade lifecycle processes, confirmations, reconciliations, and settlement procedures.

• Strong numerical reasoning and the ability to interpret market data accurately.

• Proficiency in spreadsheet-based reporting and trade analysis; experience with SQL or automated reporting tools is an advantage.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions without compromising accuracy.

• A high standard of professional integrity, confidentiality, and operational discipline.

The ideal candidate is methodical, commercially aware, and comfortable working with time-sensitive financial transactions. They understand that successful FX execution requires more than obtaining a quoted price: it also involves managing market impact, controlling transaction costs, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that trades remain within approved limits.

Experience supporting institutional clients, corporate treasury teams, liquidity providers, or regulated FX brokers would be advantageous.
