Position Overview

We are looking for a technically capable Fintech Software Deployment Engineer to support the release, configuration, and reliable operation of software applications used in digital banking, payment processing, and financial technology services.

The successful candidate will coordinate software deployments, maintain release automation, investigate deployment failures, and work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure that application updates are delivered safely. The role requires a strong understanding of modern development workflows, production environments, and the importance of service continuity in financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute application deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support repeatable and controlled software releases.

• Automate deployment tasks, environment configuration, and routine release procedures.

• Verify application readiness through deployment checks, smoke tests, and post-release validation.

• Investigate failed deployments, configuration conflicts, dependency issues, and release-related incidents.

• Collaborate with software developers, cloud engineers, and quality assurance teams to resolve deployment problems.

• Maintain release documentation, rollback procedures, environment configurations, and deployment records.

• Monitor application health following releases and escalate issues that could affect service availability.

• Support change management procedures and ensure that production updates follow approved controls.

• Identify opportunities to improve release reliability, reduce deployment time, and minimise service disruption.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience in software deployment, release engineering, DevOps, or production support.

• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• Working knowledge of Git, Linux, scripting, and application configuration.

• Understanding of containers, Docker, and cloud platforms is advantageous.

• Familiarity with automated testing, monitoring tools, and incident management procedures.

• Awareness of secure deployment practices and controlled access to production systems.

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Technical Environment

The role may involve Git-based workflows, CI/CD automation, containerised applications, cloud infrastructure, monitoring platforms, and structured software release procedures.
