We are seeking a highly skilled Fintech Security Engineer to strengthen the security architecture, application controls, and operational resilience of modern financial technology platforms in Estonia.

This role is suited to a security professional who understands that fintech security extends beyond traditional infrastructure protection. You will work across application security, cloud environments, identity management, vulnerability management, monitoring, and secure software development.

The Role

You will collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, product, compliance, and risk teams to identify security exposures and implement practical controls throughout the technology lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments of applications, APIs, cloud environments, and third-party integrations.
• Support secure software-development practices and application-security initiatives.
• Monitor security events and investigate potential incidents.
• Develop and improve vulnerability-management processes.
• Strengthen identity, authentication, authorisation, and privileged-access controls.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on threat modelling and secure architecture.
• Support security testing, penetration testing, and remediation activities.
• Establish security requirements for new financial products and technology services.
• Contribute to incident-response procedures and post-incident analysis.
• Monitor emerging security threats relevant to financial technology.
• Maintain security documentation, standards, and technical procedures.
• Support compliance with applicable financial-services and data-protection requirements.

Technical Environment

Experience with several of the following is valuable:

• Cloud security across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• IAM and privileged-access management
• API security
• SIEM and security monitoring
• Vulnerability-management platforms
• Docker and Kubernetes security
• Network security
• Infrastructure as code
• CI/CD security
• Python, Bash, or similar scripting
• OWASP security principles

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of cybersecurity or security-engineering experience.
• Experience securing production technology environments.
• Strong understanding of application, cloud, infrastructure, and identity security.
• Experience within fintech, banking, payments, or another regulated environment is highly valuable.
• Strong analytical and incident-investigation capabilities.
• Understanding of security frameworks and risk-management principles.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or cloud-security certifications are advantageous.
