Description

A technology-led financial services organization in Estonia is seeking a Fintech Regulatory Affairs Specialist to monitor regulatory developments and translate evolving financial-services requirements into practical business guidance.

This position is particularly suited to someone who understands both regulatory frameworks and the operational realities of technology-driven financial services.

The Role

You will serve as a key point of coordination between regulatory requirements and internal teams. Your work will help product, compliance, legal, risk, and business leaders understand regulatory developments and incorporate them into business planning and operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor developments affecting fintech, payments, digital banking, and financial services.
  • Assess regulatory changes and determine their potential operational impact.
  • Prepare concise regulatory briefings and recommendations for management.
  • Support regulatory-policy development and internal governance processes.
  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams on regulatory interpretation.
  • Review new products and business initiatives from a regulatory perspective.
  • Maintain regulatory registers, obligations, and implementation trackers.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory information requests where required.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and supervisory engagements.
  • Work with product and technology teams to translate requirements into practical controls.
  • Identify emerging regulatory risks and escalate material issues appropriately.
  • Contribute to internal training and regulatory-awareness initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, legal, risk, banking, payments, or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of European financial-services regulation.
  • Experience working within a regulated financial institution or fintech environment.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory material and communicate it clearly.
  • Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple functions.

What Makes This Role Different

This is not simply a monitoring position. You will help the organization anticipate regulatory change rather than react to it, giving business and technology teams the information they need to make informed decisions.

Why This Opportunity

Estonia offers a technology-oriented financial-services environment where regulatory discipline and digital innovation increasingly operate together. This role provides meaningful exposure to product development, financial regulation, risk, technology, and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially aware, and comfortable turning complex regulatory developments into clear and actionable business guidance.
