Role Summary

The Payment Gateway Implementation Consultant will coordinate the deployment and configuration of payment gateway solutions for merchants and business clients. The role involves gathering technical requirements, supporting integration activities, coordinating testing, and ensuring that payment services are successfully implemented.

The successful candidate will serve as a link between clients, payment operations, technical teams, and external service providers. A strong understanding of payment processing, implementation procedures, and client-facing project coordination will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate payment gateway implementation projects from initial requirements gathering through deployment.

• Assess client payment requirements and recommend suitable integration approaches.

• Work with technical teams to support API-based payment integrations.

• Coordinate sandbox testing and production readiness assessments.

• Verify payment flows, transaction responses, and settlement configurations.

• Maintain implementation schedules and project documentation.

• Investigate integration issues and coordinate appropriate technical resolutions.

• Communicate implementation progress to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Support merchant configuration and payment method activation.

• Coordinate post-implementation reviews and operational handovers.

• Identify opportunities to improve implementation procedures.

• Ensure implementation activities follow established security and operational requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in payment gateway implementation, fintech consulting, or technical project coordination.

• Understanding of payment processing and merchant acquiring.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and basic integration concepts.

• Experience with payment testing and implementation documentation.

• Strong troubleshooting and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple client implementations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to explain technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience working with international clients is an advantage.
