Role Summary

The Financial Systems Configuration Specialist will manage the configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of software platforms used across financial technology operations. The role focuses on translating business requirements into system configurations, maintaining workflow rules, supporting platform changes, and ensuring that financial systems operate in accordance with established business processes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with finance, product, engineering, compliance, and operational teams to improve system functionality and maintain reliable financial workflows. This position requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of financial operations, and the ability to work with complex business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain financial technology platforms in accordance with approved business requirements.

• Translate operational and product requirements into system configuration specifications.

• Maintain workflow rules, transaction settings, user permissions, and system parameters.

• Support configuration changes affecting payment processing, financial reporting, and account management.

• Conduct system testing to confirm that configuration changes produce the expected results.

• Investigate configuration-related errors and coordinate resolution with technical teams.

• Maintain accurate records of system settings, configuration changes, and implementation procedures.

• Coordinate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for workflow improvement.

• Support system upgrades, feature releases, and configuration-related implementation activities.

• Review system performance and identify configuration issues affecting operational efficiency.

• Ensure that configuration changes follow appropriate approval, testing, and documentation procedures.

• Assist with user acceptance testing and provide guidance to operational teams following system changes.

• Prepare reports covering configuration activities, system issues, and outstanding improvement requests.

• Contribute to the development of standard configuration practices and system administration procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in financial systems administration, application configuration, business systems support, or fintech operations.

• Understanding of financial transaction workflows, payment operations, or digital account services.

• Experience configuring business applications, financial platforms, or enterprise software systems.

• Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into practical system settings.

• Familiarity with system testing, user acceptance testing, and change management procedures.

• Strong documentation and analytical skills.

• Understanding of access control, system permissions, and operational controls.

• Experience working with issue tracking and project collaboration tools is an advantage.

• Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
