Position Overview

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting across a technology-driven business. The role focuses on transforming financial and operational information into reliable analysis that supports management decisions, cost control, resource allocation, and sustainable business growth.

The successful candidate will work with finance colleagues and operational stakeholders to prepare financial models, monitor actual performance against budgets, analyse revenue and expenditure trends, and identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency.

This position is suitable for an analytical finance professional who enjoys working with data, understands core accounting principles, and can communicate financial findings clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and longer-term financial plans.
• Analyse monthly financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and previous reporting periods.
• Prepare management reports covering revenue, operating expenditure, margins, cash flow, and key financial indicators.
• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, investment requirements, and operational scenarios.
• Investigate significant variances and work with relevant departments to understand their causes.
• Support month-end reporting activities by validating financial information and reconciling relevant management-reporting data.
• Monitor departmental expenditure and highlight potential budget overruns or cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare financial dashboards, presentations, and analysis for internal planning and review meetings.
• Evaluate business assumptions and assess the financial implications of proposed projects, service improvements, and operational changes.
• Improve reporting templates, spreadsheet models, and financial data workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and follow internal financial controls and reporting procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least two years of experience in FP&A, management accounting, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
• Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling, pivot tables, lookups, and structured data analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
• Understanding of income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and core financial performance indicators.
• Strong numerical accuracy and the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage reporting deadlines and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, payments, or another technology-focused business is beneficial.

The analyst will be expected to challenge assumptions constructively and support evidence-based financial decisions.
