Role Summary

The Financial Data Governance Analyst will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of data governance standards across financial technology systems and business operations.

The role focuses on improving financial data quality, maintaining consistent information management practices, monitoring data integrity, and supporting compliance with relevant data protection and governance requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with finance, engineering, compliance, and business intelligence teams to establish reliable data management processes and improve the quality of information used across financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of data governance frameworks across financial technology systems.

• Monitor financial data quality and identify inconsistencies, duplication, incomplete records, and reporting discrepancies.

• Establish and maintain data definitions, business glossaries, classification standards, and data documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data validation procedures and information management controls.

• Review financial data flows across internal applications, payment systems, and reporting platforms.

• Conduct periodic data quality assessments and prepare reports highlighting identified issues and corrective actions.

• Support the development of data ownership structures and accountability procedures across business departments.

• Monitor adherence to internal data governance policies and relevant information management requirements.

• Assist in maintaining data lineage documentation to improve transparency across financial reporting processes.

• Work with compliance specialists to support data retention, privacy, and information access requirements.

• Investigate data-related incidents and coordinate corrective measures with relevant technical stakeholders.

• Support the implementation of automated data quality monitoring and validation tools.

• Review changes to financial systems and assess their potential impact on existing data structures.

• Contribute to continuous improvements in financial data management, reporting accuracy, and information reliability.

• Prepare governance documentation and communicate data quality findings to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Relevant experience in data governance, financial data management, business intelligence, or data quality analysis.

• Understanding of data governance principles, data classification, and information management frameworks.

• Practical knowledge of SQL and relational database structures.

• Familiarity with data quality tools, reporting platforms, and business intelligence applications.

• Understanding of financial data structures and digital financial services.

• Knowledge of GDPR principles and European data protection requirements.

• Ability to analyse complex datasets and identify data integrity issues.

• Experience preparing data documentation, governance reports, and process guidelines.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Professional proficiency in English.
