Description
A technology-focused financial services organisation in Estonia is seeking a Financial Crime Intelligence Architect to design sophisticated technology frameworks for detecting, investigating, and preventing financial crime.
This is a specialised role combining AML technology, fraud analytics, regulatory technology, data architecture, and financial intelligence. Rather than focusing solely on operational case management, you will help build the systems and intelligence capabilities that enable financial institutions to identify emerging risks earlier.
Core Mission
You will design technology and data solutions capable of connecting transactional behaviour, customer information, risk indicators, sanctions screening, behavioural signals, and investigation workflows into a coherent financial-crime intelligence ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect AML, fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and financial intelligence solutions.
- Design data models connecting customer, transaction, behavioural, and risk information.
- Develop frameworks for risk-based monitoring and intelligent alert generation.
- Work with data and engineering teams to integrate internal and external risk signals.
- Support the implementation of rules-based and machine-learning-assisted detection models.
- Improve investigation workflows through automation and intelligent case prioritisation.
- Design APIs and services connecting compliance platforms with financial systems.
- Establish controls around data quality, traceability, model governance, and auditability.
- Work alongside compliance, legal, cybersecurity, data science, and engineering teams.
- Monitor emerging financial-crime typologies and translate them into technology requirements.
Candidate Profile
You will ideally have experience across financial crime technology, AML systems, fraud platforms, RegTech, data architecture, or financial services engineering.
Strong understanding of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/KYB processes, risk scoring, data pipelines, APIs, and regulatory technology is highly desirable.
Experience with SQL, Python, cloud platforms, data engineering, machine learning systems, or graph-based analytics would strengthen your profile.
What Makes the Role Different
This position goes beyond conventional compliance operations. You will help design the technology architecture behind financial-crime intelligence, connecting compliance expertise with modern data and engineering capabilities.
It is particularly suited to a professional who wants to operate at the intersection of fintech engineering, financial intelligence, RegTech, and advanced risk technology.
