Role Summary

The Electronic Trading Operations Specialist will support the daily operation and monitoring of electronic trading platforms, ensuring that trading activities are processed accurately and that operational issues are identified and resolved efficiently.

The position involves monitoring order flows, reviewing execution records, investigating trading discrepancies, and coordinating with technical and financial market teams to maintain reliable trading operations.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of electronic trading systems, financial instruments, and trade lifecycle processes, together with strong analytical and operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor electronic trading platforms and ensure that trading operations function according to established procedures.

• Review order activity, execution records, and transaction information across relevant trading systems.

• Monitor trading system availability and escalate technical issues affecting platform performance.

• Investigate order rejections, execution discrepancies, delayed transactions, and other trading exceptions.

• Coordinate with trading desks and technology teams to resolve operational incidents.

• Support trade confirmation, transaction verification, and post-trade processing activities.

• Monitor market connectivity and identify issues affecting access to trading venues and liquidity providers.

• Maintain accurate records of trading activities, operational incidents, and execution-related investigations.

• Assist in monitoring trading system performance indicators and operational service levels.

• Support testing of trading platform updates, configuration changes, and new system functionality.

• Analyse recurring operational issues and recommend improvements to trading workflows.

• Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to support trading controls and operational procedures.

• Prepare daily and periodic reports covering trading activity, system performance, and operational exceptions.

• Maintain documentation covering electronic trading processes and incident management procedures.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives involving trading technology and market operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Relevant experience in electronic trading operations, financial markets, brokerage operations, or trade support.

• Understanding of financial instruments, order execution, and electronic trading workflows.

• Familiarity with trading platforms, market data systems, and liquidity provider connectivity.

• Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, confirmations, and post-trade operations.

• Ability to investigate transaction discrepancies and analyse operational data.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.

• Familiarity with FIX protocol or trading system interfaces is an advantage.

• Understanding of financial market controls and operational risk management.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with time-sensitive operational activities.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Professional proficiency in English.
