About the role

Here, Internal Security focuses on detecting, preventing, and collaborating with relevant teams on mitigating security vulnerabilities across Bolt’s infrastructure. In addition, the Internal Security team is expected to monitor and detect anomalies in user and entity behavior and build capabilities to prevent unauthorized actions both from internal users as well as external adversaries. Bolt uses the latest technologies, which makes it necessary to understand the latest methods and tools for detection and prevention, as well as attack methods.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer focusing on internal security at Bolt, you will have the opportunity to explore security on multiple tech stacks across our platforms. You’ll have the possibility to find novel solutions to secure novel needs of user and entity management with support from dedicated teams.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Collaborating with fellow engineers as a security expert and advisor to support security requirements and provide actionable long-term risk mitigation guidance over the entire Bolt user and entity ecosystem.
  • Creating and updating threat models to help cover modern threats.
  • Being part of detection engineering initiatives to cover potential/active attacks both old and new.
  • Building tools toward security automation, monitoring, detection and discovery, and mitigation.
  • Keeping yourself up-to-date with the latest news in the IT security world.
  • Being free to try out new tools and ideas with support from open-minded colleagues.

About you

  • You are familiar with programming and scripting languages, as well as modern software development practices.
  • You have a university degree in cybersecurity or a related field.
  • You are skilled at investigating logs, identifying anomalies, and building detection rules using log management platforms and SIEM tools.
  • You are keen to make the best use of existing security tools and technologies, including EDR, MDM, Linux and macOS, and security case management platforms.
  • You have experience in areas such as malware analysis, incident response, digital forensics, threat intelligence, penetration testing, or reverse engineering.
  • You understand identity and access management principles, including the practice of least privilege.
