Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to develop and maintain modern cloud data platforms, including data warehouses, transformation frameworks, and scalable processing environments. You will help establish reliable data architecture and improve the performance, accessibility, and governance of data across our business.

Working closely with cloud engineers, analytics teams, and software developers, you will contribute to the design and implementation of robust data solutions using modern cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
• Develop scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines.
• Build and maintain data models that support business intelligence, financial reporting, and advanced analytics.
• Implement data transformation workflows using dbt, SQL, Python, and related technologies.
• Manage data processing infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Optimise warehouse performance, storage utilisation, and cloud infrastructure costs.
• Establish data governance, access control, lineage, and quality monitoring practices.
• Implement infrastructure automation and deployment workflows using suitable DevOps tools.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers and data scientists to deliver trusted datasets.
• Monitor platform reliability and troubleshoot performance, availability, and integration issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms, or data warehouse development.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
• Familiarity with dbt, Apache Airflow, Spark, or similar data engineering technologies.
• Understanding of data lake and lakehouse architectures, dimensional modelling, and data partitioning.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of data security, access management, and privacy requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across technical teams.
