Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Data Migration Specialist to coordinate and execute data migration activities across financial applications, databases, and digital banking systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing migration datasets, validating financial records, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting the transition of business information between legacy and modern financial platforms. The role requires a combination of technical data management capabilities and an understanding of financial information structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute data migration activities across financial technology applications.

• Analyse existing financial databases and assess data quality before migration.

• Map financial records between legacy systems and new platform structures.

• Develop data transformation procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy.

• Perform reconciliation checks before and after migration activities.

• Identify duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent financial records.

• Collaborate with software engineers and database administrators during migration projects.

• Develop validation scripts and automated data quality checks.

• Maintain migration documentation, technical specifications, and progress reports.

• Support testing activities before production data transfers.

• Investigate migration errors and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

• Ensure sensitive financial information is handled according to applicable data protection requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional experience in data migration, database management, or financial systems implementation.

• Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.

• Understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools.

• Experience handling financial records or transactional datasets.

• Knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Ability to manage technical assignments independently in a remote environment.
