Role Summary

The Digital Banking Data Migration Specialist will coordinate and support the migration of financial and customer-related data between banking platforms, databases and digital financial systems.

The position requires a combination of technical data management knowledge, financial services awareness and structured project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, database administrators, product teams and banking operations professionals to ensure that migration activities are properly planned, tested, documented and executed.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate data migration activities involving digital banking platforms and financial applications.

• Review existing data structures and assess migration requirements before implementation.

• Support the extraction, transformation and loading of financial information between systems.

• Validate migrated customer records, account information and transaction-related data.

• Identify data inconsistencies, duplication and formatting errors during migration exercises.

• Work with database specialists to investigate and resolve migration-related issues.

• Prepare migration mapping documents and technical data specifications.

• Coordinate data validation activities before and after system transitions.

• Support migration testing to confirm that financial records remain accurate and complete.

• Monitor migration progress and report potential delays or technical challenges.

• Collaborate with banking operations teams to understand business-critical data requirements.

• Maintain documentation covering migration procedures, validation results and outstanding issues.

• Assist with the development of data quality checks and migration control procedures.

• Support reconciliation activities to identify differences between source and target systems.

• Coordinate with information security teams to ensure appropriate protection of financial data.

• Participate in post-migration reviews and recommend improvements for future projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Banking or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in data migration, database administration, financial systems implementation or technology transformation.

• Understanding of banking data structures and financial information management.

• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases and data validation techniques.

• Familiarity with ETL processes and data transformation tools.

• Experience preparing data mapping specifications and migration documentation.

• Understanding of customer records, account information and transaction data.

• Familiarity with cloud-based databases and financial technology platforms is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Python or other data processing languages is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Ability to manage multiple migration activities and meet project deadlines.

• Ability to work independently within a remote technical environment.
