Role Summary

The Foreign Exchange Trade Operations Specialist will oversee operational activities associated with the processing, verification, reconciliation, and settlement of foreign exchange transactions.

The position involves supporting trade confirmation, monitoring transaction statuses, resolving settlement discrepancies, and maintaining accurate operational records.

The successful candidate will work closely with traders, finance teams, banking partners, and technology professionals to ensure that foreign exchange transactions progress smoothly from execution through settlement.

This role requires strong knowledge of FX trade lifecycles, financial reconciliation, transaction documentation, and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and monitor foreign exchange transactions from trade execution through confirmation and settlement.

• Verify trade details, including currency pairs, transaction amounts, exchange rates, value dates, and settlement instructions.

• Reconcile executed trades against internal trading systems, broker statements, and counterparty confirmations.

• Investigate discrepancies involving trade bookings, transaction values, settlement amounts, and currency balances.

• Monitor outstanding transactions and follow up on pending confirmations or settlement exceptions.

• Coordinate with banks, brokers, liquidity providers, and external counterparties to resolve operational issues.

• Support the accurate maintenance of trading records, transaction documentation, and operational databases.

• Monitor FX settlement activities and escalate potential settlement delays or failed transactions.

• Assist with daily position reconciliation and foreign currency balance verification.

• Maintain operational reports covering trade volumes, settlement performance, outstanding transactions, and processing exceptions.

• Collaborate with trading and finance teams to improve trade processing efficiency and operational accuracy.

• Support the implementation of operational controls designed to minimize transaction errors and settlement risks.

• Participate in system testing and process improvements affecting foreign exchange operational workflows.

• Maintain documentation relating to trade processing procedures, reconciliation activities, and exception management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or Business Administration.

• At least three years of experience in foreign exchange operations, trade support, treasury operations, or financial transaction processing.

• Strong understanding of the FX trade lifecycle, trade confirmations, settlement procedures, and transaction reconciliation.

• Familiarity with currency pairs, foreign exchange terminology, and financial market instruments.

• Experience working with trading systems, banking platforms, or financial operations software.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial record management.

• Understanding of settlement risk, operational controls, and transaction documentation.

• Ability to investigate financial discrepancies and resolve operational exceptions.

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with international counterparties and distributed operational teams.

• Professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of Estonian is beneficial.
