Role Summary

The Fintech Settlement Operations Analyst will support the processing, monitoring, and reconciliation of financial transactions across payment systems. The role focuses on settlement accuracy, transaction exceptions, operational reporting, and the timely resolution of discrepancies.

Working with payments, finance, and technical teams, the analyst will help maintain reliable settlement workflows and contribute to improvements in transaction processing controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily settlement activity across payment channels, financial partners, and transaction systems.

• Reconcile settlement reports against internal transaction records and identify discrepancies.

• Investigate delayed, incomplete, duplicated, or incorrectly recorded transactions.

• Coordinate with payment providers and internal teams to resolve settlement exceptions.

• Maintain accurate records of reconciliation outcomes, unresolved items, and corrective actions.

• Support daily, weekly, and monthly settlement reporting.

• Review transaction data to identify recurring operational issues and recommend improvements.

• Assist with settlement process testing when payment systems or partner integrations change.

• Follow established operational controls and escalate material discrepancies appropriately.

• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of settlement procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience in payment operations, settlement, reconciliation, banking operations, or a related fintech function.

• Understanding of payment processing and the transaction lifecycle.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial or operational reporting tools.

• Ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain clear supporting documentation.

• Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.

• Ability to manage recurring deadlines and prioritize operational exceptions.

• Familiarity with payment gateways, payment schemes, or automated reconciliation systems is an advantage.
