Role Summary

The Open Banking API Operations Analyst will support the monitoring, analysis and operational management of API-based financial connectivity services. The role focuses on investigating connectivity issues, reviewing API performance, analysing data exchange failures and coordinating the resolution of technical incidents affecting banking integrations.

The successful candidate will work with API engineers, product teams, financial institutions and external technology partners to maintain reliable open banking services. The position combines technical investigation, operational coordination and an understanding of financial data infrastructure.

This is an operational and analytical position suited to a professional who understands how financial systems communicate and can translate technical information into practical operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the operational performance of open banking APIs and connected financial services.

• Review API response patterns, transaction requests and connectivity records to identify service interruptions or performance issues.

• Investigate failed account information requests, payment initiation errors and data synchronisation problems.

• Analyse API logs and operational reports to identify recurring integration issues.

• Coordinate incident resolution with internal engineering teams and external banking partners.

• Support the onboarding and operational validation of new banking API connections.

• Verify that financial data received through connected institutions is consistent and correctly processed.

• Maintain records of API incidents, integration performance and outstanding technical issues.

• Assist in monitoring API availability, response times and service reliability indicators.

• Work with product and engineering teams to communicate operational requirements and recommend improvements.

• Support testing activities following API updates, banking partner changes and platform releases.

• Prepare operational dashboards and reports covering integration performance and service quality.

• Contribute to the development of internal procedures for API monitoring and incident management.

• Maintain awareness of open banking developments, financial connectivity standards and relevant regulatory expectations.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business Information Systems or a related field.

• Experience in fintech operations, API support, technical operations, banking technology or systems administration.

• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP requests and API response structures.

• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or comparable platforms.

• Basic knowledge of SQL and the ability to review structured data.

• Understanding of open banking concepts, account information services and payment initiation services.

• Ability to interpret technical logs and investigate service-related incidents.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with incident management systems and operational reporting is an advantage.

• Ability to manage multiple operational issues while maintaining accurate documentation.
