Role Summary

The Core Banking Systems Analyst will be responsible for analysing, supporting, and improving technology platforms used to manage essential banking operations. The role involves examining system functionality, documenting banking processes, identifying technical and operational gaps, and coordinating improvements across core banking applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, product teams, financial operations, and business stakeholders to ensure that core banking systems support accurate account management, transaction processing, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse core banking applications and evaluate their functionality across account management, deposits, transfers, and transaction processing.

• Gather business and technical requirements for banking system enhancements and new functionality.

• Document system workflows, business rules, integration requirements, and operational procedures.

• Investigate system discrepancies affecting account balances, transaction records, and banking operations.

• Coordinate with software engineering teams to resolve application defects and improve system functionality.

• Analyse data flows between core banking platforms, payment systems, and external financial applications.

• Support the implementation and testing of banking system upgrades and configuration changes.

• Conduct functional testing and coordinate user acceptance testing before system releases.

• Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to operational efficiency and reliability.

• Prepare technical specifications, process diagrams, and system documentation.

• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure banking system processes support relevant control requirements.

• Monitor recurring system issues and recommend sustainable corrective measures.

• Support the integration of digital banking channels with underlying core banking infrastructure.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.

• Relevant experience in core banking systems analysis, financial technology, or banking operations.

• Understanding of core banking processes, including account administration, transaction processing, and reconciliations.

• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical specifications.

• Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and financial application architecture.

• Understanding of APIs and banking system integration processes.

• Experience with functional testing and user acceptance testing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

• Professional proficiency in English.
