Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a KYC Analyst to help deliver reliable customer verification and due diligence processes for a financial services organisation. The role focuses on establishing customer identities, assessing onboarding information, verifying ownership structures, and ensuring that customer files meet internal standards and applicable regulatory obligations.

The successful applicant will work at the intersection of customer onboarding and compliance. You will help ensure that legitimate customers can access services efficiently while identifying missing documentation, inconsistencies, and risk indicators that require further investigation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) checks for individual and business customers during onboarding and periodic reviews.
  • Verify identity documents, company registration details, beneficial ownership information, and other supporting records.
  • Perform customer screening against relevant sanctions lists, politically exposed person (PEP) databases, and adverse-media sources using approved systems.
  • Assess customer risk profiles based on geography, business activity, ownership arrangements, expected account usage, and other relevant factors.
  • Request additional information or documentation when submissions are incomplete, inconsistent, or insufficient to complete due diligence.
  • Review corporate ownership structures and identify ultimate beneficial owners in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Maintain clear, complete, and up-to-date customer records within internal compliance and onboarding systems.
  • Refer higher-risk cases and potential screening matches to senior compliance colleagues for further assessment.
  • Support periodic KYC refreshes and remediation projects designed to improve the quality of existing customer files.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant education in business administration, finance, law, economics, or a comparable field.
  • Previous experience in KYC, customer onboarding, client verification, banking operations, or compliance administration is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with identity verification, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, and customer risk classification.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases without compromising accuracy.
  • Confidence using digital case-management tools, spreadsheets, and customer databases.
  • Professional written communication and the ability to request sensitive information clearly and appropriately.
  • A responsible approach to confidentiality, data protection, and handling personal information.

Professional Development

This role offers practical exposure to customer due diligence, onboarding controls, and the regulatory standards applicable to financial services in Estonia and the wider EU. The successful candidate will have opportunities to expand their knowledge of compliance operations and progress into more specialised KYC, AML, or financial crime functions.

What Success Looks Like: Customer files are complete, risk assessments are consistent, potential concerns are escalated appropriately, and onboarding decisions are supported by accurate documentation.
