A technology-driven organisation in Estonia is looking for a Blockchain Architect to lead the technical design of distributed-ledger solutions and blockchain-enabled platforms.

The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of enterprise architecture, software engineering, blockchain technology, cybersecurity, and product development. You will be responsible for defining how blockchain components interact with existing systems and ensuring that architectural decisions remain scalable, secure, maintainable, and commercially practical.

Your Mission

Your focus will be to determine where blockchain technology creates genuine technical and business value and then design the architecture required to deliver that value.

You will work with engineers and stakeholders from early discovery through implementation, helping teams understand architectural trade-offs and establish clear technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture decisions for blockchain-enabled products and services.
• Analyse business requirements and convert them into detailed technical architectures.
• Design distributed systems incorporating blockchain networks, smart contracts, APIs, databases, and backend services.
• Define integration patterns between blockchain infrastructure and enterprise applications.
• Evaluate different blockchain protocols and infrastructure providers.
• Establish standards for blockchain node infrastructure, transaction processing, data flows, and service integration.
• Review smart-contract designs from an architectural and security perspective.
• Identify technical risks, scalability constraints, security weaknesses, and operational dependencies.
• Guide engineering teams through implementation and architectural reviews.
• Establish architecture principles for reliability, observability, disaster recovery, and system resilience.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists on threat modelling and security architecture.
• Support technical due diligence and evaluation of emerging blockchain technologies.
• Maintain architecture documentation and communicate complex technical decisions to senior stakeholders.

Technical Experience

You should have strong knowledge of:

• Distributed-ledger technology and blockchain architecture
• Smart-contract platforms and EVM-based ecosystems
• Microservices and event-driven architectures
• REST and WebSocket APIs
• Cloud infrastructure and containerised environments
• Database architecture and data integration
• Cryptographic concepts and blockchain security
• Identity, authentication, authorisation, and key-management principles
• CI/CD and modern software-development practices
• Infrastructure monitoring and operational resilience

Experience with Solidity, Go, Rust, Java, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, or major cloud platforms is highly valuable.
