About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Fintech Platform Architect to contribute to the design and evolution of secure, scalable financial technology platforms serving modern digital banking, payments, and financial services environments.

This is a technically demanding role for someone who understands how high-volume financial platforms are designed, integrated, secured, and maintained. You will work across application architecture, financial APIs, data flows, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations while helping translate complex business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

The position offers the opportunity to work within Estonia’s highly developed technology ecosystem and contribute to products designed for European and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable architectures for fintech applications, payment services, financial APIs, and transaction-processing platforms.
• Develop architectural standards for distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-based financial applications.
• Evaluate technical requirements and convert them into robust architectural solutions.
• Design secure integrations with banking platforms, payment providers, identity services, and external financial APIs.
• Support the development of highly available transaction-processing and account-management systems.
• Review existing systems and identify opportunities for performance, scalability, reliability, and security improvements.
• Establish technical patterns for authentication, authorization, data protection, and service-to-service communication.
• Work closely with software engineers, product specialists, security professionals, and data teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture decisions, system diagrams, and engineering standards.
• Assess new technologies and determine their suitability for production fintech environments.
• Help ensure platforms are designed with regulatory, operational, and security requirements in mind.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software architecture or senior engineering environments, preferably within fintech, banking, payments, financial software, or another highly regulated technology sector.

You should be comfortable working with complex distributed systems and capable of making pragmatic architectural decisions rather than relying solely on theoretical models.

Desired Experience & Skills

• Strong background in software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and microservices.
• Understanding of cloud platforms and modern deployment environments.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Familiarity with financial transactions, payment processing, or digital banking systems.
• Strong understanding of application security and data protection.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software development practices.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional English communication skills.
