The Opportunity

An international financial technology environment is seeking a Fintech Platform Security Engineer to strengthen the security of cloud infrastructure, applications, APIs, and financial systems supporting digital financial services.

This is a senior individual-contributor position focused on practical security engineering rather than management. You will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure specialists, DevOps teams, and security professionals to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen controls, and build security into the technology lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct security reviews of APIs, backend services, cloud environments, and application architectures.
• Identify vulnerabilities and work with engineering teams to remediate them.
• Develop secure authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Strengthen secrets management, encryption, identity, and access controls.
• Support secure CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Conduct threat modelling for new financial products and technical services.
• Analyse security logs and investigate suspicious technical activity.
• Support vulnerability-management and security-testing programmes.
• Develop automated security checks within software-development workflows.
• Review third-party integrations from a security perspective.
• Contribute to incident investigations and technical remediation.
• Maintain security documentation, standards, and engineering guidelines.
• Support continuous improvements to cloud and application security.

Candidate Profile

• 4+ years of professional cybersecurity or security-engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of application, API, cloud, and infrastructure security.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or equivalent environments.
• Knowledge of IAM, OAuth, OpenID Connect, TLS, encryption, and secrets management.
• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment and security testing.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar.
• Understanding of OWASP principles and modern application-security practices.
• Experience working with highly sensitive data or financial systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and incident-investigation skills.
• Excellent English communication.
