An Estonia-based financial technology organisation is expanding its engineering function and is seeking an experienced FX Infrastructure Engineer to build and maintain reliable technology supporting electronic foreign-exchange operations.

This position is designed for an engineer who enjoys highly available systems, real-time financial data, low-latency processing, and technically demanding infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop resilient infrastructure supporting FX trading and financial-market applications.
• Build and maintain services for market-data ingestion, pricing, order routing, and execution workflows.
• Integrate external liquidity providers, trading venues, and financial-data systems.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, observability, and performance.
• Develop APIs and event-driven services for financial applications.
• Monitor production systems and investigate performance or availability issues.
• Establish effective automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Work with security specialists to strengthen infrastructure and access controls.
• Collaborate with quantitative, trading, product, and risk teams on technical requirements.
• Participate in architectural decisions concerning cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Document technical architecture and operational procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering standards and platform resilience.

Technical Environment

Experience with several of the following will be valuable:

• Python, Java, Kotlin, C++, C#, or Go
• REST and event-driven APIs
• SQL and distributed databases
• Kubernetes and containerised environments
• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Kafka or comparable messaging technologies
• CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
• FIX protocol or financial-market connectivity
• Real-time market-data systems

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience working with distributed, high-availability systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and production operations.
• Financial-services, trading, payments, or fintech experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Comfortable working in technically complex environments.
• Professional English communication skills.
