We are seeking a highly capable Fintech Security Engineer to strengthen the security architecture, engineering practices, and technical resilience of digital financial platforms.

Financial systems operate under demanding security requirements. The successful candidate will help protect applications, APIs, infrastructure, customer data, authentication mechanisms, and transaction environments against evolving cyber threats.

This is an engineering-focused position rather than a purely governance-based security role. You will work directly with software engineers, cloud specialists, architects, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders to embed security into the technology lifecycle.

What You Will Own

Your responsibilities will span application security, cloud security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, secure development, monitoring, and security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments of applications, APIs, services, and cloud environments.
• Identify vulnerabilities and work with engineering teams to remediate security weaknesses.
• Establish secure-development practices across the software-development lifecycle.
• Review system architectures and provide security recommendations before implementation.
• Strengthen authentication, authorisation, identity, and access-control mechanisms.
• Support security monitoring and investigation of suspicious technical activity.
• Develop automated security checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Assess third-party technologies and integrations for security risks.
• Work with cloud engineering teams to improve infrastructure security.
• Contribute to incident-response procedures and technical security investigations.
• Support penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and remediation programmes.
• Develop security documentation, technical standards, and engineering guidelines.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats relevant to financial technology.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams where technical evidence or security controls are required.
• Promote security-by-design principles across engineering and product teams.

Technical Experience

Strong experience with modern application and infrastructure security is expected. Relevant knowledge may include:

• Cloud security

• Secure software development
• Container and Kubernetes security
• Network security
• CI/CD security
• Vulnerability management
• Cryptographic principles
• Security monitoring and incident response
• Infrastructure-as-code security

Experience with financial applications, payment systems, digital banking, transaction platforms, or other highly sensitive environments is particularly valuable.

You should possess strong engineering fundamentals alongside practical cybersecurity experience. You must be comfortable investigating technical issues, communicating with developers, and turning security findings into concrete engineering improvements.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, technical curiosity, and the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly evolving technology environment are essential.
