A growing fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a Senior Payment Reconciliation Manager to lead the accuracy, control, and continuous improvement of financial reconciliation processes across payment and transaction operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced payments professional who understands how money moves across interconnected financial systems and can ensure that transaction records, settlement positions, and operational accounts remain accurate and fully traceable.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead daily and periodic reconciliation processes across payment and transaction systems.
• Oversee reconciliation between internal ledgers, banking partners, payment processors, and settlement accounts.
• Investigate breaks, unmatched transactions, timing differences, and settlement discrepancies.
• Establish controls that reduce manual reconciliation and operational errors.
• Develop automated reconciliation workflows in collaboration with technology teams.
• Monitor settlement cycles, exception volumes, ageing items, and unresolved differences.
• Coordinate investigation and resolution of complex financial discrepancies.
• Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation for reconciliation activities.
• Develop management reporting covering reconciliation performance and outstanding exceptions.
• Partner with finance, payments operations, engineering, and risk teams on control improvements.
• Review reconciliation processes following new product launches or payment integrations.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives focused on automation, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of experience in payments, financial operations, banking, reconciliation, or fintech.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, settlement processes, ledgers, and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience working with high-volume transactional environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and SQL capabilities; experience with reconciliation or financial systems is valuable.
• Strong attention to detail and control-oriented thinking.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
