We are seeking a Lead Backend Risk & Fraud Platform Engineer to build real-time backend infrastructure that evaluates financial transactions, customer behavior, and risk signals at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-performance backend services for real-time transaction risk assessment.
• Build APIs and decisioning services that combine customer profiles, transaction history, behavioral signals, and external risk intelligence.
• Develop scalable rule engines and real-time risk-scoring infrastructure.
• Implement event-driven pipelines for fraud signals, suspicious activity, account events, and transaction monitoring.
• Engineer low-latency services capable of making risk decisions during payment processing.
• Integrate machine-learning models developed by data-science teams into reliable production services.
• Develop systems for case creation, risk escalation, automated intervention, and investigation workflows.
• Design resilient data pipelines supporting fraud analytics and historical risk analysis.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring for latency, decision accuracy, service reliability, and model performance.
• Lead backend engineering standards for security, testing, deployment, and operational resilience.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in fintech, payments, fraud prevention, or financial-risk technology.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of real-time fraud detection, risk scoring, transaction monitoring, or financial crime technology.
• Experience integrating machine-learning models into production backend services.
• Strong technical leadership and system-design capabilities.
