A technology-driven fintech environment is looking for a Senior Ledger & Transaction Systems Engineer to develop the backend foundations responsible for accurate, secure, and auditable financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable double-entry ledger and transaction-processing services.
• Develop immutable transaction records and reliable financial-state management mechanisms.
• Build APIs supporting balances, transfers, account movements, adjustments, and transaction histories.
• Engineer reconciliation processes between internal ledgers, banking systems, and payment providers.
• Implement concurrency controls and consistency mechanisms to prevent incorrect financial states.
• Develop automated validation systems for transaction integrity and ledger balancing.
• Design event-driven services for transaction updates, settlements, notifications, and downstream financial processes.
• Optimize database architecture for high-volume transactional workloads.
• Build comprehensive automated testing for financial calculations and transaction scenarios.
• Investigate complex production discrepancies and establish permanent technical solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with exposure to banking, payments, accounting technology, or fintech.
• Excellent knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Go, or another strongly typed backend language.
• Advanced SQL and database-engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of transactional consistency, concurrency, distributed systems, and financial ledgers.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, message brokers, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Exceptional attention to numerical accuracy and data integrity.
