Position Overview

The P2P Risk & Fraud Analyst will focus on identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial crime and transaction risks across peer-to-peer payment activity. The position combines transaction analysis, behavioural monitoring, fraud investigation, and risk-control development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse P2P transactions to identify unusual behavioural and transactional patterns.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, account compromise, payment manipulation, and abnormal transaction activity.
  • Review transaction alerts and determine appropriate escalation or intervention.
  • Develop risk indicators for identifying potentially fraudulent P2P activity.
  • Analyse customer and transaction behaviour to distinguish legitimate activity from suspicious patterns.
  • Work with compliance and financial-crime teams on investigations and case management.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of transaction-monitoring rules.
  • Prepare analytical reports covering fraud trends, emerging threats, and risk exposure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis following significant fraud incidents.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to improve automated risk-detection systems.
  • Contribute to risk assessments for new P2P products, features, and payment flows.
  • Maintain detailed investigation records and ensure decisions are supported by appropriate evidence.

Candidate Profile

  • Professional experience in fintech, payments, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, banking, or financial risk.
  • Strong analytical and investigative abilities.
  • Familiarity with transaction-monitoring concepts and digital payment risks.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying behavioural anomalies.
  • Strong Excel/SQL or equivalent analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent written documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to make evidence-based decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
