Description
About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded Treasury Analyst to support liquidity monitoring, cash management, financial forecasting, and treasury reporting within a growing financial services or technology organisation.
The role focuses on helping the business maintain an accurate view of its cash position, anticipate funding requirements, monitor banking balances, and make informed decisions about the use of financial resources. The successful candidate will work with finance, accounting, payments, and treasury stakeholders to improve visibility over cash flows and strengthen the organisation’s financial controls.
This position offers an opportunity to develop specialist treasury expertise in an international business environment, with exposure to multi-currency operations, banking relationships, and the financial infrastructure supporting digital services.
Key Responsibilities
Cash and Liquidity Management
- Monitor daily cash positions across bank accounts, payment accounts, and other approved financial arrangements.
- Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts using expected receipts, outgoing payments, operating expenses, and known funding commitments.
- Identify potential liquidity shortfalls, excess balances, and material changes in expected cash movements.
- Maintain accurate cash position reports and communicate relevant findings to the finance and treasury teams.
- Support the allocation and movement of funds between approved accounts in accordance with internal authorisation procedures.
Treasury Reporting and Analysis
- Reconcile treasury records against bank statements, accounting records, and payment platform balances.
- Analyse cash flow trends, transaction activity, foreign currency exposures, and banking fees.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports for management review.
- Assist with forecasting assumptions, variance analysis, and explanations of differences between projected and actual cash movements.
- Monitor applicable interest rates, foreign exchange movements, and currency balances to support informed financial planning.
- Maintain structured records of bank accounts, payment arrangements, treasury transactions, and related documentation.
Controls and Banking Coordination
- Support the administration of banking relationships and maintain accurate account and signatory documentation.
- Assist with treasury control reviews, audit requests, and documentation of financial procedures.
- Ensure that treasury activities follow established approval limits, segregation-of-duties requirements, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with accounting and payments colleagues to investigate unreconciled balances and unexpected cash movements.
- Help improve cash forecasting templates, reporting tools, and treasury processes through automation and standardisation.
- Escalate unusual transactions, material forecast deviations, or liquidity concerns through the appropriate internal channels.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline.
- Experience in treasury, financial analysis, cash management, accounting, or banking operations.
- Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting, balance reconciliation, financial reporting, and basic treasury controls.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and structured financial analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms, treasury management systems, banking portals, or financial reporting software.
- Understanding of foreign exchange transactions and multi-currency cash management is desirable.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify variances, and present findings clearly.
- Strong organisational skills, discretion, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Progress toward a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or an equivalent finance credential is advantageous. Experience supporting a fintech, electronic money institution, payment service provider, or international business would be particularly relevant.
What Success Looks Like
The successful analyst will improve the accuracy of cash forecasts, maintain reliable treasury reporting, identify material variances early, and support disciplined liquidity management. The role requires both analytical capability and a practical understanding of the operational details behind daily cash movements.
Ideal Candidate: A financially analytical professional who can translate transaction-level information into meaningful cash flow insights and support sound, well-controlled treasury decisions.
