JOB OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a visionary and hands-on Solution Architect to join our architecture team. In this pivotal role, you will translate complex and sometimes abstract business requirements into technical implementation.

You will be responsible not just for the design of a good-looking architecture, you will proactively deliver well-founded and future-proof solutions.

NB! Please note that this role is on-site in Tallinn, Estonia. No relocation support or visa sponsorship is provided.

• Turn ambiguous requests into clear problem statements, goals, definitions of done, and technical requirements.

• Translate business needs into scalable, maintainable, secure solutions by driving technical discovery and shaping actionable tasks and code structure.

• Define and communicate the target-state architecture: vision, strategy, roadmap influence, and technical debt priorities/modernization plans.

• Identify and prioritize non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, performance, security, compliance) aligned with business goals, and ensure solutions meet them.

• Review and guide system design end-to-end , including architecture, APIs, data models, and integrations, with a focus on complex or high-risk changes.

• Decide where architectural involvement is needed  and provide hands-on support, such as performance tuning or troubleshooting, when it adds clear value.

• Keep delivery aligned with long-term direction without slowing progress, helping teams break work into practical, incremental delivery plans.

• Create, maintain, and retire technical policies, standards, guidelines, and architectural documentation/diagrams as systems evolve.

• Act as a sparring partner and mentor for engineers, tech leads, and product leaders, raising engineering excellence and decision quality.

• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and third-party services, balancing innovation with stability, cost, and operability.

• Strong background in platform, backend, data, or N-tier development under high-load, high-availability, or other challenging conditions.

• Deep understanding of runtime internals relevant to your stack, including application runtimes, operating systems, networking, databases etc.

• Proven architectural judgment based on real tradeoffs and outcomes, not just pattern familiarity or theoretical knowledge.

• Ability to contribute to the long-term strategic direction during the short-term delivery.

• Ability to explain and justify technical problems and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong personal workflow management in an environment with frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and incomplete information.

• Comfortable negotiating with senior leadership and strong minded engineering counterparts.

• A team player who contributes actively to team alignment, shared understanding, and execution.

• Principled but pragmatic, able to adapt when new facts emerge without clinging to earlier decisions.
