Role Summary

The Senior Forex Market Research Analyst will conduct detailed research into foreign exchange markets, monitor macroeconomic developments, and produce analytical reports covering currency performance and market conditions.

The position requires the ability to combine fundamental research, technical market analysis, economic data interpretation, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will monitor major currency pairs, assess monetary policy developments, analyze economic indicators, and identify factors that may influence currency valuations.

The analyst will also contribute to the development of market intelligence reports that support trading decisions, financial planning, and broader market understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental and technical research across major global foreign exchange markets.

• Monitor currency movements, market volatility, interest rate expectations, and international economic developments.

• Analyze economic indicators, including inflation, employment figures, GDP growth, and central bank policy decisions.

• Prepare comprehensive research reports covering major currency pairs and relevant foreign exchange developments.

• Evaluate the potential impact of geopolitical events, monetary policy changes, and economic announcements on currency markets.

• Identify emerging market trends, currency correlations, and potential changes in foreign exchange market sentiment.

• Apply technical analysis methods, including trend identification, support and resistance analysis, and momentum indicators.

• Monitor the activities and policy decisions of major central banks, including the ECB, Federal Reserve, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan.

• Develop market outlooks and analytical commentary supported by relevant economic and financial data.

• Maintain structured economic calendars and monitor upcoming events that may influence currency markets.

• Collaborate with trading and risk teams to provide research insights and market intelligence.

• Evaluate historical currency performance to identify recurring market patterns and significant developments.

• Maintain accurate research documentation, analytical models, and supporting datasets.

• Present research findings clearly to internal stakeholders through written reports and market briefings.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• At least four years of experience in forex research, financial market analysis, investment research, or macroeconomic analysis.

• Strong understanding of international foreign exchange markets and major currency pairs.

• Knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis methodologies.

• Experience interpreting macroeconomic indicators and central bank monetary policy decisions.

• Familiarity with financial market data platforms and economic research tools.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

• Experience with Python, SQL, or statistical analysis tools is an advantage.

• Ability to prepare detailed research reports supported by reliable financial data.

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and independent research capabilities.

• Professional proficiency in English. Additional European languages are beneficial.
