A leading fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a Senior Fintech Platform Architect to design and evolve the technology architecture supporting secure, scalable financial products. This role is suited to an experienced technology professional who understands both modern software architecture and the operational demands of regulated financial services.

The Role

You will shape the architecture of high-availability fintech platforms, translating business and regulatory requirements into resilient technical solutions. You will work across engineering, product, security, data, and operations teams to establish architectural standards that support rapid innovation without compromising reliability or control.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable architectures for digital banking, payments, account services, and financial platforms.
• Define technical standards, integration patterns, APIs, and service boundaries across complex systems.
• Lead architectural decisions involving cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, databases, and event-driven platforms.
• Establish principles for security, resilience, observability, disaster recovery, and operational continuity.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their suitability for financial applications.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to improve platform performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and long-term digital transformation initiatives.
• Ensure architecture aligns with applicable financial-sector security and compliance requirements.

Candidate Profile

You bring substantial experience in software or platform architecture, preferably within fintech, banking, payments, or another highly regulated technology environment.

You should have:

• Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and databases.
• Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of application security and technology risk.
• Experience working with engineering teams in complex product environments.
• Excellent technical communication and stakeholder-management skills.
