Senior Financial Data Engineer

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Financial Data Engineer to build reliable data infrastructure supporting analytics, financial reporting, transaction intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of financial technology and data engineering, developing pipelines and platforms capable of processing large volumes of structured and transactional financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines for transaction, customer, payment, and financial datasets.
• Build robust data-processing systems supporting real-time and batch workloads.
• Develop data models and architectures suitable for financial analytics and reporting.
• Integrate data from payment platforms, banking systems, APIs, internal applications, and external providers.
• Implement data-quality, validation, lineage, and monitoring frameworks.
• Optimise data infrastructure for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Work with analysts, data scientists, product teams, and financial specialists to deliver high-quality datasets.
• Develop automated processes for reconciliation, reporting, and financial data analysis.
• Apply appropriate security and access controls to sensitive financial information.
• Contribute to the evolution of cloud-based data platforms and engineering standards.

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with relational and analytical databases and modern data-platform architecture.
• Practical knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed processing.
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, Azure, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance and financial-data quality requirements.
• Experience within fintech, banking, payments, or another data-intensive financial environment is highly desirable.
