Risk Manager – Fintech, Payments & Digital Business

A forward-looking organisation in Estonia is seeking a commercially minded Risk Manager to strengthen its approach to operational, financial, technology, and business risk. This position is suited to a professional who can look beyond individual risks and understand how different processes, systems, people, and commercial decisions interact.

You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify emerging risks, evaluate existing controls, investigate incidents, and develop practical strategies that allow the organisation to grow responsibly. The role provides exposure to areas such as digital finance, payments, technology platforms, business continuity, fraud prevention, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective enterprise and operational risk-management frameworks.
• Identify, assess, document, and monitor business and technology-related risks.
• Conduct risk assessments for new products, services, projects, and operational processes.
• Monitor key risk indicators and prepare management reports.
• Review internal controls and recommend improvements where weaknesses are identified.
• Collaborate with compliance, finance, technology, operations, and security teams.
• Support incident analysis and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• Contribute to business continuity and operational resilience planning.
• Track emerging industry and technology risks and communicate their potential impact.
• Present risk findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking with sound commercial judgement. You should be comfortable examining complex situations, challenging assumptions, and explaining risk-related issues in a clear and practical manner.

Experience in fintech, banking, payments, insurance, technology, consulting, cybersecurity, or another risk-sensitive industry would be valuable. Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills are essential.
