Description

We are seeking a commercially focused Procurement Specialist to strengthen purchasing operations, supplier relationships, cost management, and procurement governance. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that goods and services are sourced efficiently while maintaining appropriate quality, value, and contractual standards.

The Role

The Procurement Specialist will manage procurement activities across assigned categories, working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure that purchasing requirements are fulfilled efficiently and transparently.

You will be responsible for supplier research, quotation analysis, purchase coordination, documentation, and performance monitoring while contributing to broader initiatives designed to improve procurement efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement activities from requisition through purchase and delivery.
  • Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, capability, and reliability.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
  • Support contract negotiations and supplier onboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing reports.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, legal, logistics, and other internal departments.
  • Ensure procurement activities follow established policies and approval procedures.
  • Assist with supplier reviews, audits, and performance assessments.
  • Track purchasing expenditure and contribute to procurement forecasting.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support the development and improvement of procurement processes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, detail-oriented, organized, and confident when communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You should be capable of evaluating competing commercial proposals objectively while maintaining strong attention to documentation and process compliance.

Negotiation ability, numerical confidence, and practical problem-solving skills will be highly valued.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
  • Understanding of supplier evaluation and commercial negotiation principles.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement documentation and purchasing processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable business systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
