Role Overview
We are looking for a commercially focused Procurement Manager to manage purchasing operations while developing stronger supplier relationships, cost-management strategies, and procurement controls. The successful professional will ensure that the organization obtains products and services at appropriate quality, price, and delivery standards while minimizing supply disruptions.

The role will involve strategic sourcing as well as operational purchasing. You will collaborate with finance, operations, logistics, legal, and department managers to ensure procurement decisions support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop category-based procurement strategies and purchasing plans.
  • Manage supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, contracts, delivery schedules, and service conditions.
  • Monitor procurement expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and conduct commercial evaluations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through competitive sourcing and contract optimization.
  • Establish supplier-performance metrics and review results regularly.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and contract information.
  • Monitor market developments that could affect pricing, availability, or supply continuity.
  • Develop alternative sourcing strategies for critical products and services.
  • Identify procurement risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Introduce digital procurement tools and process improvements where appropriate.
  • Prepare procurement performance reports for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of contracts, purchasing processes, and supplier-performance management.
  • Strong analytical and financial-management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP or e-procurement systems is advantageous.
