Role Overview

We are looking for a Mobile Engineer (Android) to build and improve Android applications supporting digital payments, account services, transaction monitoring, and other customer-facing financial features.

In this role, you will collaborate with backend engineers, security specialists, product managers, and designers to deliver performant applications that protect customer information and provide a consistent user experience. You should be comfortable working with modern Android technologies and understand the importance of reliability in financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development tools.
• Build user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and, where required, traditional Android Views.
• Integrate backend APIs for payments, account information, customer authentication, and transaction history.
• Implement secure authentication flows, session management, and appropriate local data protection.
• Work with backend teams to troubleshoot API integration issues and improve transaction-related user journeys.
• Apply Android architecture best practices, including modular design, dependency injection, and lifecycle-aware components.
• Write unit, integration, and UI tests to maintain application quality and reduce regressions.
• Investigate crashes, performance bottlenecks, and device-specific compatibility issues.
• Participate in code reviews, release planning, automated build pipelines, and Google Play deployment processes.
• Collaborate with compliance and security stakeholders to support applicable data protection and financial technology requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing Android applications with Kotlin.
• Working knowledge of Android Studio, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, and Gradle.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming.
• Understanding of mobile application architecture, testing strategies, and version control with Git.
• Familiarity with secure storage, encryption principles, biometric authentication, and application security.
• Experience working with financial services, payments, banking applications, or other security-sensitive products is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English; Estonian language skills are beneficial.
