Role Summary

The Foreign Exchange Trading Systems Engineer will develop, maintain, and optimize software systems used in forex trading environments.

The role focuses on trading platform connectivity, execution infrastructure, market data processing, and system performance. The successful candidate will collaborate with software engineers, trading professionals, and infrastructure teams to ensure that trading systems remain reliable, efficient, and responsive to changing market conditions.

This position is suited to a technically strong professional with an interest in financial markets and experience developing software for performance-sensitive systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components supporting foreign exchange trading systems.

• Build and improve integrations between trading platforms, liquidity providers, and market data services.

• Implement reliable market data processing and transaction execution workflows.

• Monitor system performance, availability, and operational reliability.

• Investigate technical issues affecting trade execution, connectivity, or market data delivery.

• Develop automated tests to validate trading system functionality and integration behavior.

• Optimize software components to improve processing efficiency and system responsiveness.

• Collaborate with trading operations teams to understand technical requirements and trading workflows.

• Maintain technical documentation covering system architecture, integrations, and operational procedures.

• Support the deployment and maintenance of trading software in production environments.

• Implement secure coding practices and appropriate controls for financial data processing.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve system resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance.

• Support incident investigations and contribute to the development of corrective technical solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Professional experience in software engineering or systems development.

• Strong programming skills in C++, Java, C#, Python, or another relevant language.

• Understanding of APIs, network protocols, and distributed software systems.

• Familiarity with financial market data and electronic trading infrastructure.

• Knowledge of concurrency, performance optimization, or low-latency system design is an advantage.

• Experience with relational databases, version control, and automated testing.

• Understanding of software deployment, monitoring, and production support.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in fintech, forex trading technology, or financial systems is an advantage.
