Position Overview

A leading fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a highly capable Fintech Security Engineer to strengthen the security architecture surrounding digital financial platforms, APIs, customer data, transaction infrastructure, and cloud-based services.

This is a hands-on technical position for a security professional who understands that financial technology requires more than conventional application security. You will work across application, infrastructure, identity, and data security while helping engineering teams build secure systems from the beginning rather than addressing security issues only after deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments of APIs, applications, cloud environments, and third-party integrations.
• Identify vulnerabilities and coordinate their remediation with engineering teams.
• Strengthen authentication, authorization, identity management, and access-control mechanisms.
• Monitor security events and investigate suspicious technical activity.
• Support secure development practices across software engineering teams.
• Review infrastructure and application configurations against established security standards.
• Contribute to threat modelling and security architecture reviews.
• Improve vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident-response processes.
• Assist with penetration testing and remediation activities.
• Develop security automation where appropriate to reduce manual processes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation relating to security controls and procedures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Professional experience in cybersecurity, application security, cloud security, or security engineering.
• Strong understanding of web applications, APIs, databases, networking, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with identity and access management principles.
• Knowledge of secure software-development practices.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and security-testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities.
• Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate technical security issues clearly to engineering and business teams.
• Professional English communication skills.
