Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Fintech Fraud Analyst to help protect digital financial services against fraudulent transactions, suspicious account activity, and emerging payment-related risks. The successful candidate will analyse transaction patterns, investigate alerts, document findings, and support the continuous improvement of fraud prevention controls.

Working with risk, compliance, payments, and customer operations teams, the analyst will contribute to effective fraud detection while helping maintain a smooth experience for legitimate customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review transaction monitoring alerts and investigate potentially fraudulent payment activity.
  • Analyse account behaviour, transaction histories, device signals, and other relevant indicators to identify suspicious patterns.
  • Assess fraud cases involving unauthorised transactions, account takeover attempts, payment abuse, and unusual account activity.
  • Document investigation findings and ensure that case records are complete, accurate, and suitable for internal review.
  • Escalate high-risk cases in accordance with established investigation and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with compliance and operations teams on suspicious activity assessments and customer account reviews.
  • Monitor fraud trends and identify recurring vulnerabilities in transaction and account workflows.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of fraud detection rules, operational thresholds, and investigation procedures.
  • Prepare reports on fraud indicators, case outcomes, false positives, and emerging risk patterns.
  • Handle sensitive customer and transaction information in accordance with applicable data protection and security requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Criminology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Two or more years of experience in fraud prevention, payment operations, transaction monitoring, or financial risk analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate complex transaction patterns.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and experience working with structured data.
  • Familiarity with SQL, fraud monitoring platforms, case management systems, or data visualisation tools is advantageous.
  • Understanding of card payments, digital wallets, online banking, and common financial fraud scenarios.
  • Knowledge of AML controls, KYC procedures, and relevant financial services regulations.
  • High standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and professional judgement.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines investigative thinking with sound analytical judgement. They can distinguish unusual activity from legitimate customer behaviour, communicate findings clearly, and make evidence-based recommendations without compromising established control procedures.

Why This Opportunity

The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the security and reliability of digital financial services in Estonia. It is suited to professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in payment fraud, transaction monitoring, financial crime prevention, and risk analytics.
