Description
An Estonia-based fintech environment is seeking a Fintech Data Quality & Reconciliation Specialist to strengthen the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial and operational data across digital financial systems.
Modern fintech platforms depend on large volumes of data moving between payment systems, banking partners, internal ledgers, customer platforms, reporting systems, and third-party providers. Even small inconsistencies can create operational problems. This role focuses on detecting those inconsistencies, understanding their causes, and helping establish processes that prevent them from recurring.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform daily and periodic reconciliation of financial and operational datasets.
- Compare transaction records across internal systems and external financial platforms.
- Investigate missing, duplicated, delayed, or inconsistent records.
- Identify data-quality issues and document their root causes.
- Work with engineering and operations teams to resolve data discrepancies.
- Monitor data-integrity controls across relevant fintech processes.
- Validate transaction, settlement, account, and reporting information.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and exception summaries.
- Maintain structured records of identified discrepancies and resolutions.
- Support the development of automated reconciliation and validation processes.
- Assist with data-quality testing following system changes or product releases.
- Review data flows between internal applications and external financial providers.
- Contribute to improved data standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Escalate material inconsistencies according to established procedures.
- Support audit, reporting, and control activities where accurate financial data is required.
Your Background
The role would suit professionals with experience in:
- Fintech operations
- Banking operations
- Payment processing
- Financial reconciliation
- Data operations
- Accounting operations
- Financial technology

- Business or data analysis
Candidates should have:
- Strong numerical reasoning.

- Good understanding of transaction and settlement data.
- Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills.
- Experience working with structured datasets.
- Ability to identify patterns and anomalies.
- Strong written documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- A disciplined approach to data confidentiality and accuracy.
Experience with SQL, BI dashboards, reconciliation platforms, payment systems, APIs, accounting software, data warehouses, or automated data-validation tools would be an advantage.
Professional Environment
You will operate across several parts of the fintech ecosystem, collaborating with finance, engineering, payments, product, operations, compliance, and data professionals.
The position provides an opportunity to develop specialist expertise in one of the less visible but highly important areas of financial technology: ensuring that the information powering transactions, reporting, and operational decisions remains accurate and dependable.
Why This Opportunity Matters
As fintech platforms scale, data volumes and system integrations become increasingly complex. Strong data-quality and reconciliation processes help prevent operational disruption, improve financial reporting, and support confidence in digital financial services.
For a detail-oriented professional who enjoys investigation, financial data, technology, and process improvement, this role offers a substantial platform for long-term development within Estonia’s fintech ecosystem.
