Modern fintech platforms depend on reliable connections between applications, banks, payment providers, identity systems, and financial infrastructure. We are looking for a Fintech API Operations Engineer to help maintain the technical reliability of these connections and ensure that critical financial integrations operate consistently.

This position sits at the intersection of software engineering, financial infrastructure, and technical operations.

The Role

You will monitor production integrations, investigate API failures, support technical releases, and work closely with engineering and external technology partners to maintain dependable financial connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fintech APIs, integration services, webhooks, and transaction-processing interfaces.
• Investigate failed requests, authentication errors, timeouts, malformed payloads, and unexpected API responses.
• Analyse application logs and technical monitoring information to identify integration problems.
• Support the deployment and verification of new API integrations and changes to existing financial services.
• Work with developers to reproduce technical issues and validate fixes in testing and production environments.
• Monitor transaction-processing workflows and escalate incidents affecting financial operations.
• Maintain technical documentation covering APIs, integration dependencies, error handling, and operational procedures.
• Assist with API testing using tools such as Postman or comparable platforms.
• Support secure handling of API credentials, access tokens, certificates, and other integration credentials.
• Participate in incident reviews and contribute to improvements in system reliability.
• Coordinate with external banking, payment, and technology partners when technical problems cross organisational boundaries.

Technical Background

• Experience in API support, technical operations, software engineering, application support, or a related technology discipline.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, authentication, and webhooks.
• Practical knowledge of API testing and debugging.
• Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming or scripting language is advantageous.
• Experience with cloud platforms, monitoring systems, or CI/CD environments is a plus.
• Understanding of payment systems or financial technology is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to technical incidents.
