Role Summary

The Financial Operations Quality Assurance Analyst will evaluate the accuracy, consistency and effectiveness of internal financial operations processes.

The role involves reviewing transaction administration activities, examining operational records, assessing adherence to established procedures and identifying areas where improvements are required. Unlike software testing positions, this role focuses on the quality of financial business processes and the accuracy of operational execution.

The successful candidate will collaborate with payment operations, reconciliation, customer operations and compliance teams to strengthen internal quality controls and improve service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic quality reviews of financial operations activities.

• Examine transaction records to identify processing errors and procedural inconsistencies.

• Review samples of payment administration and account servicing activities.

• Assess whether operational tasks are completed in accordance with established procedures.

• Identify recurring errors affecting financial transaction handling and administrative accuracy.

• Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of operational documentation.

• Review exception-handling procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain quality assessment records and document findings from operational reviews.

• Prepare reports highlighting error trends, quality performance and improvement opportunities.

• Coordinate with operational teams to investigate identified process deficiencies.

• Monitor corrective actions and assess whether implemented improvements are effective.

• Support the development of internal quality checklists and assessment frameworks.

• Identify gaps in staff procedures and recommend additional training where appropriate.

• Assist with periodic reviews of financial operations workflows.

• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams on operational quality requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing manual errors.

• Maintain confidentiality when reviewing financial and customer-related information.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Banking or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in financial operations, quality assurance, transaction administration or operational controls.

• Understanding of payment processing, financial records and banking operations.

• Experience reviewing operational documentation and transaction-related information.

• Knowledge of quality assessment methods and process improvement techniques.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting applications.

• Ability to analyse operational data and identify recurring errors.

• Familiarity with financial reconciliation and transaction exception processes is advantageous.

• Understanding of internal controls and financial services procedures.

• Strong analytical and investigative abilities.

• Excellent written communication and report preparation skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage review assignments independently.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
