Executive Opportunity

A forward-thinking fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Director of Embedded Finance to lead the development of financial capabilities delivered through digital platforms, software ecosystems, and strategic technology partnerships.

This is a senior commercial and product leadership role focused on turning financial infrastructure into scalable services that can be integrated into third-party customer journeys. You will shape strategy across payments, financial accounts, APIs, partner distribution, and platform economics.

Strategic Mandate

• Define and execute the embedded-finance strategy across priority markets and customer segments.
• Identify high-value opportunities for financial services within software and digital ecosystems.
• Develop commercial models for embedded payments, accounts, financial APIs, and related services.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with technology platforms, financial institutions, payment providers, and distribution partners.
• Work with product and engineering teams to create scalable API-based financial capabilities.
• Establish partner onboarding and integration frameworks that minimise implementation friction.
• Evaluate market opportunities, competitive positioning, economics, and regulatory considerations.
• Develop revenue models, pricing strategies, and partnership structures.
• Establish KPIs covering transaction volume, revenue, partner activation, customer adoption, and unit economics.
• Lead cross-functional programmes involving product, engineering, compliance, legal, finance, operations, and sales.
• Present strategic investment cases and market-expansion plans to executive leadership.
• Build and mentor a high-performing embedded-finance team.

Executive Profile

• 10+ years of experience in fintech, payments, banking, platform technology, partnerships, or digital financial services.
• Proven leadership experience in embedded finance, financial APIs, payments, banking-as-a-service, or related markets.
• Strong understanding of financial infrastructure and API-driven business models.
• Demonstrated commercial success developing strategic partnerships and new revenue streams.
• Strong understanding of European financial-services markets and regulatory considerations.
• Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to combine product, technology, and commercial thinking.
