Role Summary

The Digital Payments Operations Specialist will support the daily processing, monitoring, and reconciliation of digital payment transactions. The role is responsible for maintaining payment accuracy, investigating transaction discrepancies, and ensuring that operational processes meet established service standards.

Working remotely from Estonia, the successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment-related issues, monitor transaction performance, and contribute to the improvement of payment operations workflows.

This position is suited to a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of financial transactions, digital payment systems, and operational risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming and outgoing payment transactions across supported payment channels.

• Support the processing, reconciliation, and settlement of digital payment activities.

• Investigate failed, delayed, duplicated, or incorrectly processed transactions.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external payment service providers to resolve transaction issues.

• Maintain accurate payment records and ensure that transaction documentation is complete.

• Monitor payment processing performance and identify recurring operational issues.

• Assist with the implementation of procedures designed to improve payment efficiency and reliability.

• Review transaction reports and investigate discrepancies between payment platforms and financial records.

• Support the monitoring of payment exceptions, chargebacks, refunds, and settlement differences.

• Prepare operational reports covering transaction volumes, processing performance, and unresolved payment issues.

• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure payment activities follow established controls.

• Contribute to the development of operational documentation and payment processing guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

• Previous experience in payment operations, fintech, banking operations, or financial transaction processing.

• Understanding of digital payment systems, payment gateways, settlement processes, and reconciliation procedures.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

• Familiarity with payment processing platforms or transaction monitoring systems.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a remote working environment.

• Knowledge of payment compliance procedures and financial transaction controls is an advantage.
