Role Overview

We are looking for a technically strong Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure supporting financial products, analytics, transaction processing, and business intelligence.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of financial technology and data engineering, ensuring that critical financial information is accurate, accessible, secure, and efficiently processed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for fintech applications.
• Build robust ETL/ELT processes for transactional and financial datasets.
• Integrate data from banking, payment, customer, and third-party systems.
• Develop reliable data models for analytics and reporting.
• Implement data-quality monitoring and validation frameworks.
• Optimise database performance and large-scale data-processing workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver analytical datasets.
• Support real-time and batch data-processing architectures.
• Implement appropriate data-governance and access-control practices.
• Investigate data discrepancies and resolve pipeline failures.
• Develop automated monitoring and alerting for critical data processes.
• Document data architectures, pipelines, dependencies, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional data-engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL capabilities.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Understanding of cloud-based data platforms and distributed processing.
• Familiarity with APIs, data integration, version control, and automated deployment.
• Strong understanding of data quality, security, and governance.
• Experience working with financial or transaction datasets is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to technical detail.
