📌 Role Summary

The Banking Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical connections between digital banking platforms, payment networks, financial applications, and external banking service providers.

The position requires strong software engineering capabilities and an understanding of banking technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to API development, system interoperability, transaction communication, and the technical reliability of integrated banking services.

Working remotely from Estonia, the engineer will collaborate with software developers, banking operations specialists, infrastructure engineers, and product teams to deliver dependable banking technology solutions.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations between digital banking platforms and external financial systems.

• Design and implement APIs for banking applications and payment services.

• Support integration with banking partners, payment processors, and financial service providers.

• Develop secure data exchange processes for financial transactions.

• Implement webhook-based communication and transaction notification systems.

• Investigate system connectivity problems and integration failures.

• Perform integration testing and validate transaction processing workflows.

• Monitor API performance, availability, and response times.

• Maintain technical documentation and integration specifications.

• Collaborate with development teams on banking platform improvements.

• Apply secure authentication and authorisation mechanisms.

• Support deployment activities and troubleshoot production integration issues.

🎓 Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or systems integration.

• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and financial system connectivity.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.

• Experience working with JSON, XML, HTTP, and webhooks.

• Understanding of banking transaction workflows and payment processing.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and application deployment.

• Experience with Git and software testing frameworks.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
