Role Overview

We are seeking an API & Integration QA Engineer to validate backend services, application programming interfaces, and integrations between software systems. The role combines manual investigation with automated testing to ensure that services communicate correctly, handle errors appropriately, and maintain data integrity across different environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated tests for REST APIs and service integrations.
• Validate API responses, status codes, authentication mechanisms, and error-handling behaviour.
• Develop automated API tests using Python, Java, JavaScript, or suitable testing frameworks.
• Test integration workflows involving databases, third-party services, and internal applications.
• Validate request and response payloads, data transformations, and business rules.
• Perform positive, negative, boundary, regression, and performance-related checks where appropriate.
• Use Postman, REST Assured, Playwright, or similar tools to support testing activities.
• Investigate integration failures using logs, API traces, SQL queries, and monitoring information.
• Integrate automated API tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain regression coverage.
• Collaborate with backend developers, product teams, and DevOps engineers to resolve defects.
• Maintain test documentation and communicate quality risks before production releases.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least three years of experience in software testing, API testing, or integration quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, and common integration patterns.
• Practical experience with Postman or comparable API testing tools.
• Experience writing automated tests using Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
• Understanding of logs, debugging techniques, and distributed application behaviour.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional English proficiency.
